Background Location Disclosure

GPS Life Tracker can use background location to keep recording your trail when the app is minimized or closed. This page explains when that happens, why it’s needed for core features, and how to disable it.

Why background location is needed

The app’s core purpose is to help you understand where you’ve been by recording a continuous trail and computing place/coverage history. If tracking stopped whenever you left the app, the core tracking feature would be incomplete.

When GPS Life Tracker accesses location in the background

Only when you enable tracking (a user-initiated action) and grant “Allow all the time.”
While tracking is running, the app uses a foreground service and shows a persistent notification.
When you stop tracking, background location use stops.

The app is designed to avoid collecting location for advertising or analytics.

How to disable background location

Stop tracking in the app to stop location recording.
Revoke “Allow all the time” in Android settings: App info → Permissions → Location → choose “Allow only while using the app” or “Don’t allow.”
Uninstall the app to remove all permissions and local data.
